Makers & Bakers We need your help!

What’s happening this year?

In 2024, as part of Cornish Pasty Week, pasty makers across the county made a whopping £20,000 for the Cornish Pasty Community Fund to support cookery initiative in Cornish schools.

Funds raised during Cornish Pasty Week 2025 will continue to provide schools across Cornwall and Scilly with the resources they need to offer children regular cooking activities, whether that is to buy equipment and ingredients or to run cooking clubs or other fun food initiatives.

Professional pasty makers will also be able to host sessions in schools teaching children all about the Cornish pasty, it’s history, the PGI and of course how to make them.

Anyone making or selling genuine Cornish pasties is invited to participate by agreeing to donate either a specific amount of money from every Cornish pasty sold during the week, or a fixed lump sum of their choice, to the Cornish Pasty Community Fund and the new schools initiative.

The minimum donation is 1p per Cornish pasty sold. Schools will be able to apply for a share of the Community Fund simply by filling in an online form, saying how much money they need and what it will be used for.

If you make or sell genuine Cornish pasties and would like to be part of this initiative, click HERE for more details or  contact us.

“As well as offering local schools an opportunity to put regular cooking activities back onto the schedule, the Cornish Pasty Community Fund will help the next generation to understand more about food, nutrition, preparation and cooking skills, food production and manufacturing and, of course, what goes into a Cornish pasty and why it’s so special.”
